The Society of Shoe Fitters is delighted that some Podiatrists/Chiropodists choose to know more about footwear and fitting. The following lists those who have gone the extra mile and studied with the Society of Shoe Fitters and have gained membership. They can advise you about your feet, footwear and foot-health. Some do not sell/retail footwear and those that do are listed in our Register of Members with a full list of the services they provide.

The Register is split into 'counties in England' alphabetically, then Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, Southern Ireland and overseas.
Sadly there are not enough shoe shops or Podiatrists that wish to train their staff professionally to our recognized qualification and unbelievably some experienced shoe fitters are too afraid to take our Examination Examination to prove they have the required knowledge to give an expert service! We are sorry if this is the case in your area, and hope you will encourage your local shoe shop/Podiatrist to make contact with us. Unless it becomes a legal obligation to have a qualification to sell shoes (which it should be, as ill-fitting footwear can affect your entire physiology), it only remains a 'moral obligation' to gain our qualification!
We use the term Podiatrist instead of Chiropodist, as this is fast becoming the more acceptable name for this profession.
